Old Town proportions and Kingston Hill bays
Kingston's Old Town contains buildings from several periods, while Coombe and parts of Kingston Hill include larger historic houses in lower-density settings. Tall sashes, individual bay faces and later replacement windows can therefore sit within quite different reveals even when the front elevations appear related.
For an existing bay set, we compare the glazing divisions with the shutter rails, then read changed panel gaps across every angle rather than treating the bay as one flat opening. On a tall sash, handle position, meeting-rail height and the condition of the shutter frame help separate a local adjustment from broader repair or restoration work. Looking at those parts together is especially useful around Kingston's older window groups, because it preserves the relationship between glass, rails and panels while keeping the proposed work focused on the parts that have actually changed.
